recycled envelopes
The installation ‘Sent’ referenced the angelic messengers, who delivered the news of Jesus’ birth. Created from hundreds of used envelopes and formed into a pair of 5m high wings, the overlap of the envelopes suggesting the lie of the feathers, while the stamps, franking and handwriting added an abstract pattern to the symmetry. The work was made for Renfield St. Stephen’s Church, Glasgow, during Advent.
